This one is more thorough than either — they found a worn click spring that neither of the others had mentioned, quoted it separately, and asked before replacing it. Three watches, three journeys
The Challenge
A vintage dress watch, 30 years unserviced
A client brought in a 1990s Swiss automatic from his father's estate. The movement had been sitting unworn for many years, lubricants had solidified, and the watch stopped within hours of being wound.
The Work
Full restoration over four weeks
We fully disassembled the movement, cleaned every component individually, replaced the mainspring and worn keyless parts, re-lubricated to calibre specification, and replaced case gaskets. Progress was shared at two stages during the work.
The Outcome
Running within ±8 seconds per day
The watch now runs reliably enough for daily use. The client noted it's the first time he's seen the seconds hand move continuously since he was a child. Service record was provided for his records.

The Challenge
A daily diver with a stiff crown and ageing seals
A Bangkok resident used her Japanese dive watch every day and had noticed the crown was increasingly stiff to operate. She was also uncertain about its water resistance before an upcoming trip.
The Work
Crown ease, gasket renewal, pressure testing
We cleaned and lubricated the crown tube, replaced the case and crown gaskets, fitted a fresh strap at her request, and carried out a dry-air pressure test to 10 ATM as rated on the caseback.
The Outcome
Passed 10 ATM test, crown operating smoothly
The watch passed the pressure test without issue and the crown operates smoothly again. The client went on her trip with confidence. She returned four months later for a light service on a second piece.

The Challenge
A watch running well, just wanting peace of mind
A client had a Japanese automatic he wore regularly and was happy with, but it had been about five years since any attention. He wanted to know how it was doing without committing to a full service he might not need.
The Work
Light service with honest assessment
We carried out a light service, cleaned accessible areas, lubricated key points, and measured the timing rate. We confirmed the movement was in good condition and noted when a fuller service would be worth considering — around two years from now, based on what we observed.
The Outcome
Running at ±5 sec/day, full service deferred
The client left knowing his watch was in good shape and had a clear picture of what to expect going forward. He noted the honest "it doesn't need more work yet" was more reassuring than an upsell would have been.
